Nolan Dean was born on the edge of the Rocky Mountain Foothills in Calgary Alberta, Canada. His passion for photography stemmed from growing up around the majestic Rocky Mountains, adventuring in places like Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff and the surrounding areas. Nolan’s keen interest in anything outdoors always draws him to the backcountry and can always be found playing in them. Beyond behind the lens of a camera, Nolan can be found Climbing, Biking, Camping, and Fly fishing – experiencing any or all activities that the mountains have to offer. Any downtime is another opportunity to get out to climb and travel in search of new crags, and documenting every trip big or small.
Currently residing in East Bay Area, 30 minutes outside of San Fransisco. Nolan spends most of his time in Yosemite during climbing season. Lake Tahoe during the California heat spells. When not in California can be found back in Calgary playing in the slightly cooler weather exploring the almost endless sights and views of the Rocky Mountains.
Any one who knows Nolan will tell you he has an energetic wired quality, that is quirky, high spirted and high energy but makes his love of photography a perfect creative outlet. He is loved and admired for the enthusiastic way he lives and dives into help others create, build, and most importantly spend time outside with friends & family doing what he loves.
